Severe weather forced the cancellation of the final day of Pharrell Williams’ “Something in the Water” festival in Virginia Beach. The festival, known for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse lineup, faced challenges from high winds, heavy rain, and a tornado warning. Organizers made the decision to cancel under advisement from local authorities, prioritizing the safety of attendees.
In a statement on the festival’s official Instagram page, organizers expressed their disappointment but emphasized the importance of safety. “We are disappointed to share that under the advisement of the city of Virginia Beach and the local authorities, we have to cancel day three of Something in the Water due to significant impacts to the festival site caused by severe weather, as well as the current and forecasted storms approaching and a tornado warning,” the statement read.
Attendees will receive a refund of 33% of the base price of their admission passes. The refund process will begin immediately and is expected to take approximately 14 days. Pharrell Williams himself responded to the cancellation with a heartfelt message to fans. “Dearest Virginia, we are the best. These past few days have been the best. Even during this Tornado Watch and Lightning Storm right now, as I type, we are the best,” he wrote.
Pharrell thanked everyone involved in the festival, from attendees to local authorities. “Thank you for giving the folks that travel here that energy and that LOVE that only we can give. Thank you to our partners, the vendors, production, policemen, firemen, the city council, the mayor, and all who volunteered. The spirit here was felt everywhere!”

Looking ahead, Pharrell promised an even better festival experience next year. “Next year, we will shift the dates because this rain ain’t playing, but we will be! Next year, more acts, more merch, more food… just more! Continued blessings and favor to you all,” he concluded.
