Meet Jacki Welch, owner and Mimi Wood-Johnson, manager of The Green Cat Juice Bar & Market; a local family owner and operated business offering a gluten free, plant based menu as well as a variety of unique gifts.
Do you have a nickname? What is it?
J: Jacki – my real name is Jacquelynn.
M: Mimi – Melinda is my full name. I tell people when you meet me that you can’t forget my name, all you have to do is think about yourself.
What is one food that you will not eat?
J: Whale – I tried it and it was pretty awful and I felt bad for the whale.
What was your favorite movie?
J: Fried Green Tomatoes and Steel Magnolia – they are classics.
M: The Proposal
If someone was to give you a gift (money’s no object) what would you want?
J: The freedom to have time to do what I love.
M: My own island off of Maine.
What is your biggest fear?
J: Not living up to my full potential.
What is the one quality you admire most in others?
M: Sense of humor
Where is the next place you want to visit?
J: Bali – I am actually going in a couple of weeks.
M: Scotland – after Bali.
If you had to pick one place in town to take a tourist, where would it be?
J: The Green Cat Cafe and I always send people to the A.R.E.

Describe your perfect day off.
J: Waking up and having a beautiful sunny day and a pot of coffee, tinkering around, getting on my bike, going to lunch and getting a massage and watching the sun set and having a great dinner.
M: A great day on the ocean fishing and actually catching –and no humidity.
