Meet Nancy Moore, Director of Operations and Development for The First Tee of Hampton Roads in Virginia Beach, a program of the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. The youth development organization combines the game of golf with character values, healthy habits, and life skills.
Do you have a nickname? What is it?
Some people call me Nanc.
What is one food that you will not eat?
Peas, they make me gag.
What was your favorite movie?
There are so many, Top Gun – I know every word. And probably Remember The Titans, it’s one of the greatest football movies ever and I’m a huge football fan!
If someone was to give you a gift (money’s no object) what would you want?
Two things come to mind – I would love to cure my mom of cancer. Then a beautiful home in St. John where we could vacation anytime.
What is your biggest fear?
The death of a child.
What is the one quality you admire most in others?
Friendship – the ability to be an amazing friend. I value great friends, and know it’s kind of a lost art these days.
Where is the next place you want to visit?
We are looking at an Italy/Spain trip, it’s big on our list!
If you had to pick one place in town to take a tourist, where would it be?
Probably the beach, we take it for granted living here. I love Sandbridge in the summer and love walking the boardwalk in the fall.
