Meet Joe Johnson, owner of The Bee & The Biscuit; a newly renovated cottage restaurant that features locally sourced honey and produce.
Do you have a nickname? What is it?
J: Papa D by my kids and grand-kids.
What is one food that you will not eat?
J: That’s tough, I am such a foodie. I am not crazy about beets, I’ll eat it, but I’ll cringe when I eat it.
What was your favorite movie?
J: Godfather – it’s classic.
If someone was to give you a gift (money’s no object) what would you want?
J: For all my kids and grandkids to have healthy relationships.
What is your biggest fear?
J: That I am going to offend somebody, I want to do all that I can to be at peace with people.
What is the one quality you admire most in others?
Where is the next place you want to visit?
J: Maui – I go there a lot, but I love it.
If you had to pick one place in town to take a tourist, where would it be?
J: The first place I would take them is The Bee & The Biscuit and show them where we started and where we are now with before and after pictures. Then I would take them to the ocean front and walk the pier.
Describe your perfect day off.
J: Waking up about 5 am, go out in my hot tub and bring my dog Cody, look at the trees and just have quiet time. I like to have a great balance of quiet time and people time in my day.
