Norfolk man sentenced to 105 months in prison for selling fentanyl-laced heroin

A Norfolk man was sentenced to 105 months in prison Wednesday for selling fentanyl-laced heroin, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Lamar Sinclair, 33, sold heroin in Norfolk and Virginia Beach from 2012 to April 2016, according to court documents. The heroin, which was laced with the synthetic opioid fentanyl, caused six non-fatal overdoses.

Sinclair knew of the overdoses and bragged about the potency of the heroin he was distributing, referring to it as “The Missile,” the release said.

Police were able to arrest Sinclair after making nine controlled purchases from him. Two of the purchases tested positive for fentanyl.
