A Maury High School student brought a gun to campus Thursday, officials say.

Students reported seeing a gun in a classroom to school administrators. The Norfolk Police Department searched classrooms, found an unloaded gun and apprehended a student, according to a letter to parents penned by Maury High School Principal Karen Berg.

The incident is under investigation. The Norfolk Public Schools communications office did not respond immediately to Southside Daily’s request for information on Thursday afternoon.
