The Norfolk Admirals have added a defenseman to the roster, but he is not new to the team.

The Admirals, the ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, acquired Sam Noreau, 23, from the Missouri Mavericks, the team said in a release Tuesday.

Noreau, a fifth-round draft pick for the New York Rangers in 2011, played 57 games for Norfolk last season, for a total of 16 points and 140 penalty minutes.

The Admirals will face the Toledo Walleye at Norfolk’s Scope Arena Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29.

At Friday’s game, the team will be giving away two tickets to the remaining games of the season.

There will be a post-game skate on Saturday, giving fans a chance to meet players.

Tickets are available at and the Scope box office. For information about tickets, call 757-640-1212.

Fans can also follow the team on Facebook (NorfolkAdmirals), Twitter (@NorfolkAdmirals) and Instagram (NorfolkAdmirals).

Tide Radio is the official radio partner of the Admirals. Southside Daily and Tide Radio are owned by the same parent company, Local Voice.
