Casino night and a wine fundraiser: Southside Scene for Feb. 18-21

Casino Night: Virginia Beach’s Central Business District Association is hosting its 7th annual casino night, designed to raise money for local nonprofits. This year the donation will go to Junior Achievement, which helps about 13,000 local students develop 21st century skills. Tickets are $60 and the theme is “A Night at Gatsby’s.” The organization asks that attendees try to dress for the theme.

When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday

Wine by Design: The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art is hosting its 25th annual Wine by Design fundraiser. The event will feature a variety of wine options, food from local restaurants and a silent auction. Tickets start at $50 without drink tickets or $65 with them. Prices go up to $55 and $70 the day of the event.

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Virginia MOCA

Old Beach Farmers Market: Check out the latest seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, eggs, seafood, baked goods, artisan breads, homemade dishes and other local products.  The vendors are local restaurant owners, bakers, artisans, cooks and other producers from the Hampton Roads area. Attendees are asked to bring reusable grocery bags for all purchases.

When: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday

Where: ViBe district, 19th Street and Cypress

R5: The American pop rock band from Los Angeles will take the stage in Norfolk. The group released its second full-length album, “Sometime Last Night,” in 2015. “Let’s Not Be Alone Tonight” is one of the top singles off the latest album. Tickets are $30 in advance and $33 the day of the concert.

When: 7 p.m. Saturday

Where: The NorVa

Southeastern Guns & Knives Show: Since 1982, SGK shows are designed to show the public and those who sell guns and knives the latest inventions. They bring a variety of products, varying from collectables, guns for sport and those used for home defense. There will be 400 tables of merchandise. Tickets are $7 and are good for two days if bought on Saturday.

When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday
