Tidewater Conference swimming championships: Norfolk Academy sweeps titles; Bishop Sullivan nabs 2 MVP honors

Norfolk Academy’s boys and girls swimmers swept the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools championships over the weekend at the Midtown Aquatic Center. The Bulldogs won the boys 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay races. Daniel Cook won the 50 freestyle, while Justine Kaskel led the girls with wins in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.

Bishop Sullivan junior Claire Waterhouse won girls MVP honors while senior Philip Speri nabbed the boys MVP award. Waterhouse won the 50 freestyle (24.96) and 100 freestyle (54.34). Speri won the 200 freestyle (1:41.52) and 100 freestlye (45.96) while swimming on the winning 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay teams. The Crusaders boys and girls both finished third.  Cape Henry’s boys finished fourth; its girls finished sixth.
