Cox boys, girls sweep Coastal Conference swimming championships

The Cox boys and girls swimming team won a combined 15 of 22 events en route to consecutive Coastal Conference titles in Saturday’s championships at the Princess Anne Rec Center.

Led by Dan Bannon (200 and 400 freestyle) and Colin Demers (100 butterfly and 100 backstroke), the Falcon boys won eight of 11 events. Cameron Smith (200 individual medley), Tasos Moditsis (50 freestyle) and the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams also took first.

Top individual finishers for the Falcon girls included Tara LaRusso (100 backstroke, 100 freestyle), Claire Ostrowski (100 breaststroke), Katherine Degner (200 freestyle) and Georgie DaCruz (100 butterfly). The 400 freestyle and 200 medley relay teams also won their races.
