Tickets now on sale for Virginia Symphony Orchestra’s holiday “Messiah” concerts

Ticket’s are now on sale for the Virginia Symphony Orchestra’s annual performance of Handel’s “Messiah.”

Resident Conductor Benjamin Rous will lead the orchestra, the Virginia Symphony Chorus and guest soloists in three performances this week. The shows begin Thursday in Virginia Beach and end Saturday in Norfolk.

“We return to Handel’s Messiah every year because every single time we perform it and hear it we discover something new,” Rous said in a release. “It is both a great privilege and a great challenge to perform a work that is already so beloved.”

Performances are:

  • 8 p.m. Dece. 17 at Regent University in Virginia Beach,
  • 8 p.m. Dec. 18 at First Baptist Church in Newport News.
  • 8 p.m. Dec. 19, 2015 at Harrison Opera House in Norfolk.

Tickets range in price from $25 – $110 and can be purchased online at VirginiaSymphony.org or by calling 757.892.6366. Students with ID are $10.
