The Virginia Beach School Board will host public input meetings Tuesday on its operating budget for fiscal year 2016-2017 and capital improvement program for 2016-2017 to 2021-2022, as well as on the potential sale of school board property.
Board members are looking for input on what should be included in the schools’ budget and capital improvement program, according to a release. This is the first public input meeting in the budget process, which stretches to May.
The School Board is also collecting input on a few of parcels of land near Witchduck Road. The board plans to declare the land as surplus property and sell it to the city for the Witchduck Road widening project. The parcels, which are around the Renaissance Academy, are described below:

- a 9,450 square-foot temporary construction easement at 5100 Cleveland St.
- 4,143 square feet at 273 N. Witchduck Rd.
- a 4,118 square-foot temporary construction easement at 273 N. Witchduck Rd.
The School Board would receive the proceeds from the sale of the land, which is estimated to be more than $350,000.
Those interesting in speaking should contact the School Board clerk at 757 263-1016. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the School Administration Building, Municipal Center Building 6.
