Woman hit by vehicle, suffers life-threatening injuries in accident that closes Virginia Beach Boulevard

A woman was hit by a vehicle this morning in the 4000 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard and suffered what the Virginia Beach police initially described as life-threatening injuries.

Police said later that the woman’s injuries were no longer considered to be life-threatening.

The section of Virginia Beach Boulevard between Stepney Lane and South Kentucky Road is expected to be closed for several hours because the of the accident, the police said in a release.

The call for service was received at 10:16 a.m. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, and members of the Fatal Accident Crash Team are investigating, according to the police.
