Women’s Volleyball

Angie Darcus (Princess Anne), Norfolk State University: The senior outside hitter leads the Spartans offense with 246 kills and 19 service aces. She’s second on the team with 154 digs and 14 blocks.

Hannah Castellano (Cox), Norfolk State University: The only freshman on the roster has contributed 32 digs and six assists as a defensive specialist.


D’Metrius Williams (Salem), Norfolk State University: A ball-hawk as the starting defensive back, the senior leads the team with two interceptions and two forced fumbles, along with 29 total tackles.

Jaivon Smallwood (Bayside), Virginia State University: The 6-foot-2 senior wide receiver leads the Trojans in receptions (35), receiving yards (502) and receiving touchdowns (three).

Gene Holloman (Bayside), Virginia State University: Representing Bayside along with Smallwood, the 6-foot-3 senior wide receiver ranks second in all receiving categories behind his counterpart, with 23 receptions for 312 yards and two touchdowns in eight games.

Kyree Burton (Salem), Christopher Newport University: The sophomore wide receiver has made a major impact in special teams, leading the Captains in kick returns with 23 attempts for 528 yards (23 yards per attempt).

Allen Hayes (Tallwood), Christopher Newport University: In eight games as a starting linebacker, the sophomore has a team-high two sacks and five tackles for loss of yards, and a team second-best 52 total tackles. He’s also forced a team-high two fumbles.
