Library block party celebrates Election Day

Virginia Beach’s Bayside Area Library is hosting a free block party 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 3 to celebrate Election Day.

“It’s a way to showcase all that the library has to offer the community,” said Christine Brantley, the community relations & development manager at Virginia Beach Public Library.

Attractions will include a photo booth, food trucks, face-painting and other activities for children. The Bayside Lions Club will provide vision tests for preschoolers and hearing tests for all ages. The library will also be a demonstration of 3-D printing and other electronic devices.

“We encourage residents to come celebrate the community, meet their neighbors and local businesses and enjoy all that the library has to offer,” library manager Susan Paddock said in a release.

The Bayside Library is at 936 Independence Blvd.
