Manufacturer of military tactical gear grows in Virginia Beach

A company that makes tactical nylon gear for the military is expanding and moving to a new space in Virginia Beach’s Oceana corridor.

Trident Security and Holdings, doing business as 215 Gear, will relocate from its location on Taylor Farm Road to a new industrial warehouse at 2501 Encounter Court in the Oceana South Industrial Park, the city announced in a release. The company is classified as a Woman Owned Small Business by the Small Business Administration.

The company will buy the 7,000-square-foot facility in the business park with a capital investment of $725,727 in real estate, machinery and tools, according to the city. The Virginia Beach Development Authority has awarded a grant of $30,000 to 215 Gear based on the company’s capital investment, as part of a program that tries to get businesses that meet certain specifications to locate in potential accident zones around Oceana Naval Air Station.
