A paving project began Tuesday on Northampton Boulevard and will continue nightly until mid-November, bringing with it traffic delays, congestion and construction noise, the city said.
The work will be done between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. and will involve milling, paving and pavement marking from Shore Drive to Diamond Springs Road. The project is expected to be finished by Nov. 15.
The city’s public works department is urging motorists to use alternate routes when possible. Signs will be posted to announce lane closures.
If daytime work is necessary, it will be done between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., the city said. Weekend daytime work, ,if necessary, will be done between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., it said.
