Virginia Beach Coin Show: U.S. coins, foreign coins, ancient coins — you get the idea. A description for the two-day event also mentions medals, tokens, artifacts and gold, both foreign and domestic. The kicker: You don’t have to hand over any coin to get in. Admission is free. There’ll also be door prizes, raffles and gifts for kids.

Where: Virginia Beach Convention Center

The International Senior Softball Association Winter Nationals: Watch players in their 50s, 60s and 70s compete for softball glory at a number of fields in the city over three days. An estimated 60 to 100 teams are expected. Admission is free.

When: Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Where: Princess Anne Sports Complex, City View Park, other venues

The Komen Tidewater Race for the Cure 5K: Join thousands at this popular Oceanfront race and help raise money to fight breast cancer. An online fundraising meter said the event was 40 percent to its goal of $285,000 as of Wednesday. Last-minute registration for adults is $40.

When: Saturday morning

Where: 31st Street and Atlantic Avenue

The 15th annual Harvest Fair & Craft Show: Enjoy live music by Acoustic Railroad, enter the kids in pumpkin pie-eating and coloring contests, talk to a master gardener and browse the wares of local artisans and crafters.

When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday

Where: The Virginia Beach Farmers Market, at the corner of Dam Neck and Princess Anne roads
