Shonda Kay Weems, 44, of Virginia Beach, died Monday, May 4, 2020.

She was born Dec. 12, 1975, in Norfolk. Shonda was known for her infectious laugh and her enjoyment of being around friends and family.

Shonda was a graduate of Green Run High School, where she played many sports and was captain of the varsity cheerleading team. She went on to receive a Criminal Justice Degree from ECPI University. Shonda married her high school sweetheart, Christopher Weems. They had two children together, Gage and Riley Weems.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jeffrey Schaffer; stepfather, Stephen Salas Sr.; and grandfather, Don Salas.

Along with her husband and children, Shonda is survived by her mother, Debra Inman; stepfather, Wayne Inman; brother, Stephen Salas Jr.; sister, Brittani Inman; grandparents, Jean Salas and Jesse Tyson; several nieces and nephews; as well as many cousins and numerous aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, Thursday, May 7, at
Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel, 3445 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Colonial Grove Memorial Park, 3445 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach.
