Mary L. Hornberger, 82, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020, in Virginia Beach.

Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Mary was a Navy wife who lived in Norfolk; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Naples, Italy, before the family retired in Virginia Beach. However, she remained a Pennsylvania girl at heart.

She enjoyed music, food (especially desserts), conversation and spending time with her family and her pets. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with a kind heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Harry B. Hornberger Jr. She is survived by her three daughters, Rose Padilla (husband, Max Padilla Jr.) of Smithfield, Rene Hornberger of Newport News, Rhonda Osborne (husband, Kenneth Osborne) of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Michele Pilachowski (husband, Josh Pilachowski) of Abingdon, Maryland, and Logan Osborne (wife, Rebecca Osborne) of Chesapeake; two adored great-grandchildren, Tristan Osborne and Rosalie Osborne of Chesapeake; and siblings, Patsy Sensenig and Leroy Sensenig, both of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 14, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel. She will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined.
