Rebecca Anne Hicks, 35, a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece and cousin, departed this life to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, Feb. 11, 2020.

Rebecca was born Jan. 17, 1985, to Gail R. Hicks and Margaret E. Hicks at Naval Station Hospital, Newport, Rhode Island.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Rebecca, aka “Becky,” attended both Newport and Virginia Beach City Public Schools. She graduated from Bayside High School in 2003 and completed the registered nursing program at ECPI in 2014. She was last employed as a nurse with Sentara Princess Anne Hospital.

Rebecca was an outgoing person who loved spending time with family and friends. Becky’s hobbies included reading, going to the movies and watching videos. She will be loved, cherished and missed by us all.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret E. Hicks; and brother, Gail R. Hicks Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her dad, Gail R. Hicks Sr.; four brothers, William R. Hicks, Barry L. Hicks, Terry Edwards and Marvyn Johnson; sister, Rhonda M. Johnson; four nephews, Nathaiel, Terry Jr., Tyawndre and Xavier; nine nieces, Isabella, Lisa, Maria, Terrica, Thea, Tiffany, Zoel, D’Miyah and Makayla; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Beach Funeral & Cremation Services, 4456 Bonney Road, Virginia Beach. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, at Rock Church, 640 Kempsville Road,
Virginia Beach. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach.
