Jeanne Frances Peterson, 75, ‘gourmet chef’ who enjoyed cooking for her family

Jeanne Frances Peterson

Jeanne Frances Peterson, 75, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 17, 2020. She was born in Connecticut to the late Joseph and Marion Willette.

Jeanne was a longtime member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. She loved to cook, and, according to her family, she was a gourmet chef. Jeanne also enjoyed cross-stitching, knitting, reading romance novels, computer games, Facebook, dark beer, “her” wine and grocery shopping — she knew everyone at the store. Jeanne was a devoted Navy wife for 10 years, raising young children while maintaining her home.

But, most of all Jeanne loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Jean Peterson; and four sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 58 years, William E. Peterson; four amazing children, Ed “Eddie” Peterson (Sandy), Karin Owens (John), Bob “Bobby” Peterson and Melissa Warren (Jeff); brother, Joseph Willette (Louise); sister, Theresa Willette; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. We can’t forget her adorable dog, Bentley, her “Puppy Wuppy.”

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 21, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local food bank because Jeanne never wanted anyone to go to bed hungry.
