Edward Fortune ‘Ed’ Cromwell Sr.

Edward Fortune “Ed” Cromwell Sr., 70, went to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 3, 2020.

Ed was born on Sept. 17, 1949, to the late John and Dorothy Cromwell in Norfolk.

Big Ed loved deep sea fishing and entertaining his grandchildren using his Donald Duck voice.

Other than his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his grandson, Dustin Michael Cromwell; and brother, John Giles Cromwell Jr.

Left to cherish his loving memory are his children, Bonnie Jacobs (Ronnie), Edward Fortune Cromwell Jr. and Richard Lee Cromwell; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Constance Cromwell Powell (Richard); brother, Benton Lee Cromwell (Linda); many other extended family members and friends; and most importantly his, “Honey Bear.” And a very special thank you to Mary Myers.

A visitation will be held for Ed from 11 a.m to noon, Saturday, Feb. 8, at Church of Christ at Creeds, 5500 Morris Neck Road, Virginia Beach, followed by a funeral service at the church. Burial will immediately follow services in Bruce-Whitehurst Family Cemetery.
