Steven Randolph Feit, 63, of Virginia Beach, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, following a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Wilma Feit.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Cynthia Feit; brother, Gary, and his wife, Vikki; birth mother, Shirley Effken, and her husband, Dean; siblings, Tom Hahn, Dena Jacobs, Eric Effken, and his wife, Laura, and Michelle Schane, and her husband, Bill; sister-in-law, Susan McCuller; and several cousins, nephews and nieces.
Steve was born March 27, 1956, in Lansing, Michigan. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force following high school. He held various jobs during his lifetime, including gerrymandering on the railroad, insurance salesman, janitor and window-cleaner.
He was an active member of Baylake United Methodist Church and had served in several area churches as deacon, Sunday school supervisor, member of the worship team, choir member and sound technician. One of his greatest joys was sharing special worship songs with his wife Cyndy. He was unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, making sure that practically everyone he met knew he was saved by grace through faith in Christ.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 10, at Baylake United Methodist Church, 4300 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, at Baylake United Methodist Church, followed by a reception. Burial will be held in Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Baylake United Methodist Church.
