Lloyd F. Reynolds, 94, of Virginia Beach, passed peacefully Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019.
Lloyd was born in February 1925 to Charles and Julia Reynolds. He was the fifth of seven children. He joined the U.S. Navy when he was 17 years old and proudly served until he retired in November 1963.
He was a member of Avalon Church of Christ, Virginia Beach, until he became too ill to attend any longer.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Garnet Reynolds.
He is survived by his third wife, Janie Reynolds of Virginia Beach; three daughters, Kathy Thomas (Joe) of Staunton, Carol Rolofson (Jim) of Plant City, Florida, and Darlene Hyle (Craig) of Smithfield; three grandsons, Robert Reynolds of Virginia Beach, Adam Hyle (Ashley) of Centerville and Cody Hyle (Liz) of Richmond; two great-grandchildren, Layton Reynolds and Marley Hyle; and a host of nieces and nephews.
We, as a family, would like to thank the staff of Dominion Village and Hospice for the wonderful care they took of our father and grandfather the last four years.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, 1264 N. Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The service will be officiated by Chris McCarthy. A private burial will be held for the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
