Jason Paul Horstman, 45, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019, in Virginia Beach.
Jason was born Nov. 23, 1974, in Norfolk to Robert Horstman and Paula Lehmiller (Voight). He attended Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach along with the Virginia Beach Technical and Career Education Center, where he started his plumbing career. He worked at Antwan Epps Drain & Repair for the last several years.
Those who knew him, knew his love for the San Francisco 49ers ran deep (even when they weren’t winning!) along with his love for music. His family and friends will always remember him as a family-oriented, kindhearted person who would do anything he could to help others, even if it meant the shirt off his back. In honor of his brother, Michael Lehmiller, who was killed in action, and his love of his country, Jason was a member of the American Legion, Post 134, in Clearfield, Utah, and the American Legion Riders.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Horstman; brother, Michael Lehmiller; and grandparents, Paul and Mildred Voight (“Nanny” and “Pops”).
Jason is survived by his sons, Cody Horstman (22) and Shane Horstman (14); mother, Paula Lehmiller (63); siblings, Crystal Clark (40), William Lehmiller (25) and Elliot Lehmiller (24); aunt and uncle, Patricia and Tommy Heinz (Fats & Unk); aunt, Pamela Tims; numerous cousins, nieces and other extended family; his love, Jennifer Disharoon; and beloved dog, Max.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynnhaven Chapel, 3600 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach. The family will accept visitors prior to the service beginning at noon. Dr. Richard Hackett Sr. will officiate services. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jason’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made in tribute to the Jason Horstman GoFundMe campaign to assist the family with funeral expenses and travel.
