Ronald Temple “R.T.” Brown, 66, departed this earthly life at 11 p.m., Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. He was the oldest sibling of the late Roy Lee and Elnora Brown, who preceded him in 1995 and 2011.

R.T. retired from the U.S. Navy after serving this country for 23 years as a chief on different ships and naval bases. He was also employed by the Martins Collision Body and Automotive Shop as a fine mechanic under the ownership of Dave and Jeanette Martin in Virginia Beach.

R.T. was a very loving and caring individual. He was blessed with the passion of working on motor vehicles and providing assistance to his neighbors. R.T. enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially during the holiday season.

R.T. is survived by his loving wife, Rita; son, Melvin “Chino,” and his wife, Tammy, of Norfolk; brother, Royce, and his wife, Gloria, of Greensboro, North Carolina; two sisters, Diane A. Brown and Karen, and her husband, Rob, all of New York; grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a host of good friends and relatives.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. Burial will be held in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, New York.
