Suzette Marquerite “Mosher” Pillow, 77, of Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Newport, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Erford and Lorraine Mosher. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Roger Mosher.

Suzette grew up in Newport and graduated from St. Catherine’s Academy. She began her career at The Newport National Bank, later worked at the Officers’ Club at the Naval War College and finished her corporate career as a director with La Petite Academy in Virginia Beach. After, she worked in the home for many years caring for her family. She was a devoted and supportive military wife for 30 years, traveled the world and always knew how to throw a great party!

Suzette cherished her family and friends and had a strong love for animals. Mom loved the beach…it was an incredibly special place for her and her family. She could be found most early mornings watching the sunrise at Second Street in Kill Devil Hills.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 47 years, retired U.S. Navy Capt. George Ellis Pillow Jr.; daughter, Kimberlyn Pillow; son, Keith L. Pillow (Christy R. Pillow); daughter, Nancy B.P. Moore (Chadwick J. Moore); grandchildren, Brittany Larson, Garrett Larson, Owen Larson, Alexander B. Pillow, Gannon Moore and Colton Moore; brothers, Raymond Mosher and Leslie Mosher; sisters-in-law, Sharon Mosher, Alice Mosher and Dee Mosher; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Please join the family for a celebration reception following the service at 2524 Sanderson Lane, Virginia Beach.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name, to the Cancer Care Foundation of Tidewater.
