Lenora ‘Lory’ Coradini Clements, 76, daycare provider who nurtured many children

Lenora “Lory” Coradini Clements, 76, of Virginia Beach, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s. She grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, and moved with her family to Virginia Beach in 1987.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Timeo Dominic and Van Dusen (Murrell) Coradini; sisters, Vera Coradini Gardiner and Louise Curtis Coradini; and son, Jeffrey Clements.

She is survived by 10 children, William Clements Jr. of Thailand, Angela Clements Valadie (Steve) of Cordova, Tennessee, Kristy Clements Hancock (Herbert) of Jacksonville, Florida, Charles Clements (Carla) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jennifer Clements Vendt (Shan) of Orange Park, Florida, James Clements (Elana) of Culpeper, Joseph Clements of Columbus, Ohio, and Michael Clements, Sharon Clements Smith (Tom) and Timothy Clements, all of Virginia Beach; 14 grandchildren, Hollie (Steve), Shan, Andrew, Nikolas, Sydney, Isabelle, Noah, Margo, Zack, Mya Grace, Ben, Max, Ian and Bailey; brothers, Tim Coradini (Becky) of Oakland, Tennessee, and Jeff Coradini (Bev) of Memphis, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews. She leaves many friends who all cared for each other dearly. In addition to her natural grandchildren, she was “Grandma Lory” to many other children who she cared for over the years while working as a home daycare provider.

She was a member of multiple Catholic churches in the area and New Creation, as she spread the word of the Charismatic Renewal and Christ’s love for His people. She was a resident of Sullivan House for the last 11 years.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at noon, Wednesday, July 31, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 5345 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach. A reception will be held following the service at New Creation Charismatic Center, 1600 Elbow Road, Chesapeake. She will be laid to rest under the shade tree with her son, Jeff, in Calvary Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lory’s name to Parkinson’s research.
