Leah Dupont Kaufman Gallegos, 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, July 16, 2019, in Virginia Beach. Leah was a successful entrepreneur and a passionate and caring wife and mother.
During her 74 years, she accomplished many remarkable things, including singing, playing acoustic guitar, belly dancing, riding motorcycles, flying for the Civil Air Patrol, skydiving, riding horses Western style, bull riding, and driving sand rails in the desert. She even ran for mayor of Santa Ana, California. Along the way, she saved several stray dogs and worked multiple jobs to get through college while raising her two children. Her grit, determination, and strong values helped enable her children to achieve successful careers.
Leah is survived by her loving husband, Jess; daughter, Tracy; son, Hal; grandchildren, Christopher and Flora; and two great-grandchildren, Jude and Lila.
She will be laid to rest Monday, July 22, in Natick, Massachusetts, in a private family gathering.
