Garland Lee Eaton Sr., 95, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019.
A native of Princess Anne County, Mr. Eaton retired as a fire captain for Naval Air Station Oceana.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and lifetime member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jones Eaton; and parents, Amos and Elizabeth Whitehurst Eaton.

Survivors include his son, Gary Eaton, and his wife, Denise, of Virginia Beach; daughter, Pat McCrory, and her husband, Jim, of Chesapeake; daughter-in-law, Kathy Eaton; brother, Page Eaton, and his wife, Nina, of Virginia Beach; and three grandsons, Steve Keough, and his wife, Jennifer, of Virginia Beach, Lee Eaton, and his wife, Cynthia, of Norfolk and Kevin Eaton, and his wife, Samantha, of Richmond. Mr. Eaton was Big Daddy to two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Chloe Keough.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 20, at Smith & Williams Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Jack Davis. Interment will follow in Willowwood Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
