Esmael Flores, 80, retired from the Navy after 32 years’ service

Esmael Flores, 80, of Virginia Beach, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019.

Born in Tulare, California, he was the son of the late Jesus and Maria Flores. He retired as a chief petty officer from the U.S. Navy after 32 years of service. He also retired as a teacher.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary A. Flores; daughters, Dennise Swoope, and her husband, Mark, and Angela Flores; sons, Christopher Flores, Joel Flores, and his wife, Maryann, and Andres Flores, and his wife, Donna; and grandchildren, Corbin and Dylan Swoope, Lauren Osier, Kyle and Kelsey Flores, and Gabrielle, Katie, Evan and Ruth Flores.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 3, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home & Crematory, Kempsville Chapel.
