In loving memory of Deborah Jean “Debbie” Taggart, 66, devoted wife of the late John Clark Taggart Jr., and beloved, mother, grandmother, sister, girlfriend and friend, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019.

Debbie was born is Westfield, Massachusetts, and grew up in Syracuse, New York. At age 19, she married John Clark Taggart Jr.

Debbie provided her husband, children, son-in-law and grandson with 40 years of combined military service support and devotion. Debbie was always in search of ways to give back to her community by coordinating Toys for Tots annually, and by dedicating more than 15 years to Keller Williams Coastal Virginia and its associates.

She never met a stranger and always welcomed family and friends with a hug, a hot pot of coffee, or a cold beer. She had a laugh that was contagious, a smile that was warming, a wicked sense of humor, and a heart as big as the sun.

Debbie didn’t want a formal service and requested a party instead. A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 20, at the Taggart home, 4905 Preakness Way, Virginia Beach. If she were here today, she’d surely look around and say, “Oh, Jesus Christ. Would you look at all these people? Do you think there’s enough food?” She will be missed, but never forgotten.
