Angelina Clamucha Mones, 84, was called to her heavenly home Friday, March 29, 2019. A longtime resident of Virginia Beach, she was born Aug. 2, 1934, to the late Anastacio Clamucha and Nieves Manalo Clamucha in Rizal, Philippines.
In 1960, Angelina graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree and became a middle school home economics teacher in the Philippines. After coming to the Unites States, her primary role was to raise the family while her husband faithfully served in the U.S. Navy. She also worked for Sovran Bank as a data entry clerk before retiring.
Angelina was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, retired U.S. Navy MSC Ceferino Lopez Mones, and survived by their children, Jeffrey Ceferino Clamucha Mones; retired U.S. Navy Cmdr. Geoffrey Anastacio Clamucha Mones, and his wife, Shannon, Rochelle Clamucha Mones Bojo, and her husband Richard; Theresa Grace Clamucha Mones Elento and her husband, Edgard; six grandchildren, Tyler Mones, Spyncer Mones, Dakota Mones, Justin Mones, Alexis Elento and Marisol Elento; and great-grandson, Kai Elento.
Angelina and her husband dedicated their lives to loving their family to their last days. Their home was always centered on the most important things in life — their faith in God and the lasting bonds of family and friends.
A visitation with Novena prayers will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, with a reception following. A Mass of the resurrection will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 4, at the Church of the Ascension, 4853 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. Burial will immediately follow services in Rosewood Memorial Park with a reception afterward at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home.
