Florence Elizabeth Lee, 85, of Virginia Beach, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019. Born in Owosso, Michigan, to the late Oscar and Ella Sprague, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert Lee; and sister, Bess Durrow.
For over 20 years, Flo not only worked, but became family and became known as Nanny Flo to the Kennedy family in Virginia Beach: Tom, Lisa and Children Jason and Krista. Those were some of her best years. She loved the view and living on the Elizabeth River, going on trips and enjoying her Sunday church gang lunches. She was an avid bowler.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Rolly Lee, and his wife, Carol, Michael Lee, and his wife, Yvette, Steven Lee, and his wife, Lorenda, and John Lee; grandchildren, Cory Lee, and his wife, Bridgett, Chris Lee, and his wife, Tetiana, Mathew Lee, and his wife, Kelli, Danny Lee, and his wife, Mellissa, Rolly Dean Lee Jr., and his wife, Amanda, Randy Lee, and his wife, Genna, Sandy Davidson, and her husband, Joey, Kristina Dance, and her husband, Jamie, Tiffany Neal, and her fiancée, David Spain, Candy Edwards, and her husband, Joey, Mathew Nelson and David Lee; 29 great-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with one on the way; extended family members and loving friends; and last, but certainly not least, her beloved kitty, Baby Girl.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. A reception will immediately follow services for the family to visit with relatives and friends.
