Michael Scott Mondrzejewski, 53, proud to have served his country in the Air Force

Michael Scott Mondrzejewski, 53, of Virginia Beach, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2019.

Born in Illinois, he was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and currently worked on NOB in NAVFAC. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf, skiing and being in the outdoors. Michael was an adamant Chicago Bears fan. There was a special place in his heart for his dog, Taz; and two cats, Kiki and Prince, both of whom were rescues.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Mondrzejewski; and brother, Robert Turner. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 20 years, Barbara Mondrzejewski; sons, Cody Keim, Jonathan Meeker (Roxanne Hodge) and Michael Mondrzejewski; granddaughter, Liliana Meeker; father, Richard Mondrzejewski (Toni); brothers, Dick Turner, Ronald Turner and Jay Mondrzejewski; sister, Robin Smith (Jim); and niece, Michelle Brixius (George).

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 1, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel.
