Virginia Ann “Jenny” Pinner, 79, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019. She was born in Wilmington, Delaware, to the late E. Wert and stepdad, J.H. Gordon and Margaret Holmes Gordon.

Jenny worked in food service for the Virginia Beach School Board until she retired. She was an honorary member of the Virginia Beach Volunteer Fire Department, Station 8 and 11, and the Red Hat Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eption Pinner; daughter, Diane Winter; two sisters, Shirley Carly and Esther Todd; and her cats, Maggie and Molly.

Jenny is survived by three children, Steve (Tammy), Mark and Wanda (Downs); son-in-law, Duane; six grandchildren, Stephen, Justin, Travis, Brandon, Shannon and Blaise; one sister, Tanya; and two brothers, Blackie and Nobie.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Maestas Chapel, 1801 Baltic Ave., Virginia Beach. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 31, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park.
