Robin Davis Josey, 62, of Dumfries, and formerly of Virginia Beach, died at her home Monday, Dec. 24, 2018.

She was born Oct. 2, 1956, in Norfolk and given the name Robin Yvonne Davis. She attended Covenant Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, as a child and Hood Chapel AME Zion Church, Norfolk, as a young adult.

Robin was a loving and giving woman and her generosity was felt by many people. She loved watching a variety of sports and attending sporting events. She especially loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. She enjoyed gardening, vacationing on Florida and Caribbean beaches, reading, cooking, fishing, crabbing and playing tennis as a young adult. She was a 1974 graduate of Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach and attended Norfolk State University and Kee Business College. Robin worked at Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia and was scheduled to retire in January 2019.

Robin was a beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, friend and aunt. She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Y. Davis of Tampa, Florida, and Stephanie N. Josey of Norfolk; mother, Reverend Rosalyn Poole Woodard (née Riddick) of Virginia Beach; granddaughters, Maria G. Areiza, Jacquelyn G. Kelley and Genevieve G. Knieps, all of Tampa, Florida; siblings, Angela D. Royal (Sylvester) of Kennesaw, Georgia, James L. Davis Jr. of Virginia Beach, Michael A. Johnson (Carolyn) of Hampton, Michele Nix of Newport News, Denise J. Poole-Hill (Eugene) of Gwynn Oak, Maryland, and Edward T. Poole III of New York, New York; special daughters, Tatiana Chestnutt of Springfield and Kathleen Wolford of Burlington, North Carolina; lifelong friends, Janet Jones, Evelyn Cohen and Pamela King; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Lorenzo Davis Sr.; and domestic partner, Dan Duvall.

A memorial service will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. Joseph AME Zion, 1540 Atlantic Ave., Chesapeake, VA
