Born March 27, 1945, Joyce Ann Blackburn Isabelle, 73, went home to be with her Lord and some loved ones, including her son, Trae, and her precious great-grandbabies on Dec. 19, 2018, she went peacefully at home with her loving husband by her side, Retired CMC Ronald R. Isabelle. They started their adventure in life together on June 20, 1979. She was loved by her surviving children, 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandbabies, one awesome husband and many more. She played many roles, God-loving, Southern proud woman, Navy wife, mom, nana and great-nana.
She was a nurse including hospice care, a rape counselor and preschool teacher’s aide. Her church was Spurgeon Baptist Memorial, where she was part of the missionary team and on the prayer chain team, worked in the church daycare and taught children’s bible class.
She loved to laugh and dance. She was a great dancer and always up for a game of rummy. As much as she is missed, it’s fitting that she went to heaven for Christmas, her favorite holiday. We have gained a feisty guardian angel for sure. We love you, miss you and will never forget you pretty lady!
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
