Chun Pong Wong, 87, passed peacefully Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Chun Pong is survived by his devoted and beloved wife of 68 years, Shiu Song; five children, Henry, Susana, and her husband, Ban, Peter, and his wife, Alice, Mary, and her husband, Arthur, and Cary, and her husband, Neil; 11 grandchildren, Elliot, Nicole, Megan, Allison, Katelyn, Michael, Adam, Alex, Mitchell, Makayla and Anna; four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Brandtley, Andrew and Elaina. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Vera.
Chun Pong was born on July 22, 1931, in Canton, China, to the late Sai Delk and Nai Tai Wong. A longtime Hampton resident, Chun Pong was an entrepreneur having owned and operated successful businesses in Hong Kong and Hampton. His family will remember him for his devotion to family, ethics on working hard and inspiration to pursue life dreams.
The family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 21, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 23, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chinese Community Association of Hampton Roads or the Chinese American Family Bible Church of Virginia Beach.
