Jimmy Roscoe Parker, 67, died peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018. He was a longtime resident of Virginia Beach and a graduate of Kempsville High School.
Jimmy was a skilled carpenter who worked at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for many years. He was the second of five children born to the late Forrest and Helen Parker.
Jimmy was a self-proclaimed “momma’s boy,” who lovingly cared for his mother until her death in 2014. Shortly thereafter, he relocated to the Sullivan House, Virginia Beach, where he is remembered as a consummate gentleman with a kind spirit. Jimmy was a longtime member of Carrow Baptist Church and an avid fisherman who loved God and family.
Left cherishing his memory are his siblings, Gay Allen, and her husband, Don, Deborah McGowan and Jerry Parker, and his wife, Beth. He will also be missed by host of nieces, nephews and loving friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, at Carrow Baptist Church, 5545 Susquehanna Drive, Virginia Beach.
