It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel T. “Dan” McNally, of Virginia Beach, announces his death on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2018, at the age of 73.
Dan was born in Washington, D.C., and lived in many foreign countries during his childhood. He graduated from Fordham University and continued his studies at Exeter College, Oxford and the University of Pennsylvania. He proudly served his country as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and later worked as a special agent with the FBI for 25 years. He continued his service to the country working as a military contractor in Iraq and Afghanistan. Most recently, Dan enjoyed operating his own lawn care business and spending time with his family and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel M. McNally and Irene Sullivan McNally.
He is survived by his loving sons, Daniel, Andrew (Angela), Thomas (Tara), Patrick (April) and Yuriy (Mariia); and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, John McNally; sister, Carol McNally Cvietkovich (Thomas); and other beloved relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 3, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 2002 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 712 Little Neck Road, Virginia Beach. A burial service will be held at a later date at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
