Robert Craig Burns, 53, of Virginia Beach, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018.
Born in Richmond, he was the son of the late Thomas and Janice Burns. He worked for Marathon Development for 16 years as vice president and was a former employee for CMSS Architects. He was well known in the downtown Norfolk area for many development projects as well as the Pembroke Town Center. He was an avid Redskins fan and loved time on the beach with his family and surfing.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 28 years, Missy Burns; two daughters, Candace Jeanine Burns and Peyton Michelle Burns; brother, David Burns; mother-in-law, Jeanine Wenger-Hulbert, and her husband, Richard Hulbert; brother-in-law, Randy Wenger; sister-in-law, Sherri Frank, and her husband, Bill Frank; niece, Kayla Frank; and nephew, Corbin Frank.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, at the funeral home chapel. A celebration of life and paddle-out held in the spring will be announced at a later date.
