Paul Domato, 94, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016. Paul was born in Ridgewood, N.Y., on July 5, 1922, and was the son of the late Tony and Helena Domato.
He lived most of his life in New Hyde Park, N.Y., and retired to Ormond Beach, Fla., 23 years ago. He was a faithful and dedicated member of the Crossroads Calvary Chapel in Ormond Beach, where his true love was Sunday school class.
He moved to Virginia Beach with his wife 1 ½ years ago to be with family. Paul served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ruth Domato; children, Janice Roller, and her husband, Donald, of Virginia Beach, Gary Domato, and his wife, Maryanne, of Port Lucia, Fla., and Cheryl Domato of Loxahatchee, Fla.; grandchildren, Jennifer, and her husband, Jason, and Brian Olha, and his wife, Jana, all of Virginia Beach; great-grandchildren, Colby and Marisa Goodwin; brother, Louis Domato, and his wife, Siv, of Chambersburg, Pa.; and a close family friend, Sam Shevlin.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad, 740 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23451, who have been so wonderful to the family in their time of need.
