Annie Mae Capps, 94, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016.
She was born to parents Tressie T. Davis and Addie Davis on March 17, 1921. Annie was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Capps; her parents; sisters; Hilda D. Edwards and Alma Cahoon; brothers, Stanley C. Davis, William (Billy) Davis and Albert J. Davis; son, David T. Capps; and a son-in-law Jefferson B. Hannah Jr. Annie was a loving wife to Earl and together they had three children, Edwin E. Capps, the late David T. Capps Sr. and her devoted daughter, Phyllis H. Warren.
She was a charter member of Faith Temple Church, where she taught Sunday school, Bible school and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Annie’s passion in life was caring for others. She was a lady of integrity, grace and soft-spoken. She was an example of Christianity that each of us should resemble. Granny, as she was lovingly known, will be missed by all who had the privilege to have been a part of her life.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Edwin, Fay, Phyllis, Leo and Pat; nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Kathy Davis; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and untold adopted children and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 7, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, conducted by W.G. Beagle. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
