Mark ‘Dennis’ Clifton, 55, worked for city of Norfolk for 35 years

Mark “Dennis” Clifton, 55, passed away on February 14, 2016. He was born in Norfolk to Donald and Norma Clifton Sr.

Dennis worked for the City of Norfolk for 35 years before retiring. He was an avid New York Yankees and Washington Redskins fan.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Dana Smith Clifton; daughter, Crystal Clifton (McCoy Borg); son, Mark D. Clifton Jr. (Marissa Lawrence); brother, Donald N. Clifton Jr. (Kelly); sister, Cheryl Thompson (Robert); three nieces and two nephews; his beloved “grand-dog,” Peanut; along with extended family and many friends.

Dennis believed, “You can have everything in the world, but if you have no one to share it with, you have nothing.” The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 18.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Norfolk Animal Care & Adoption, 5585 Sabre Road, Norfolk, VA 23502.
