Lois J. Ayers, 79, peacefully passed away on February 14, 2016. She was born in Elizabeth City, N.C., to the late Samuel Warren and Jessie Mae Upton Swindell. She has been reunited with her husband, Jay Ayers Sr., and daughter, Linda Andreski.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jay S. Ayers Jr.; daughter, Deborah Cook, and husband, Rick; sister, Frances Shumate, and husband, Johnny; grandchildren, Tim Andreski, and wife, Nicole, Jessica Cannavo, and husband, Ryan, Jennifer Gaudin, and husband, Josh, Richard Cook, and wife, Sarah, Tyler Ayers and Sarah Ayers; great-grandchildren, Kierah, Logan and Cooper, “grandma’s little helpers,” Chloe, Lucy, Macie, Josie, Reece and Jolie; close friends, Janice and Cordie Glover; companion, Bob Sterwalt; along with extended family and friends.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
A visitation will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 17. A graveside service will be held in Rosewood Memorial Park at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016.
