Jean L. Cobb, 93, sold real estate, worked on Cove Point Condominium project in Virginia Beach

Jean L. Cobb, 93, died on December 21, 2015 due to complications from a stroke. She was born in Rochester, New York on March 10, 1922.

She was predeceased by her parents, Chester E. and Fannie H. Walker of Glennie, Michigan; brothers Ralph Walker of Hubbard Lake, Michigan and Kenneth Walker of Sunnylake Ranch, Michigan; and her former husband, Cdr. Philip W. Cobb.

She is survived by one brother, Norman Walker (Jan) of Midland, Michigan; two sons, Philip W. Cobb, Jr. (Beverly) and Denny P. Cobb (Robin) and a daughter, Jill A. Douglas (Richard); two granddaughters, two grandsons and one great grandson.

Jean began selling real estate in 1960 with Bill Games Realty and subsequently worked and/or partnered with Fred Gabriel, Ray Hembree, Tom Nicholson, John Maxey and Lloyd Tarbutton, among others. In 1961 while associated with Gabriel & Company, she qualified for membership in the Million Dollar Sales Club; and in 1962 she earned her Broker’s License. After retiring in the early 1970s form a successful career in direct sales, she partnered in the development of the Sunnylake Ranch subdivision in Alcona County, Michigan; and the Cove Point Condominium project in Virginia Beach.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the First Colonial Assisted Care Facility, Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Windermere Rehabilitation Center.
