Jeffrey Scott Potter, 54, a patriot who enjoyed his family, motorcycle, shooting, woodworking and fishing

Jeffrey Scott Potter, 54, died December 2, 2015. Jeffrey was born in Glens Falls, NY to Dorothy Joan Potter and the late Courtney Charles Potter.

He was a veteran, having served in the US Navy on the USS Conolly / DD979 and at FACSFAC VACAPES NAS Oceana. Jeffrey was a family man who truly enjoyed spending time with his wife and sons, he also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, shooting, woodworking and fishing. He was a member of the Virginia Patriot Guard and had coached both youth and semi-pro football. Jeffrey was a strong patriot for his country and always believed in paying it forward.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 16 years, Milisa L. Potter; children, Jeffrey S. Potter, Jr. of Virginia Beach and Patrick L. Potter (Sarah) stationed at Ft. Drum, NY; mother, Joan Potter of NY; siblings, Tim Potter (Denise) of NC, Nancy Hersey (Kenny) of NY, Jim Potter (Jennifer) of IN and Wendy Squire (Doug) of NY; grandchildren, Rylee Grace and Avery Mae Potter; and pets, Foxie, Buster and Rufus.

A life celebration service is pending at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel with Rev. Charles Chappell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA, c/o TMCFunding.com. The family would like to thank Bon Secours Hospice for their loving care.
