The Virginia Department of Transportation will close Greenwich Road to through traffic during the early hours of Tuesday, Dec. 10, to perform emergency pavement repairs, according to a press release.
VDOT officials say that while access to businesses and properties along Greenwich Road will be maintained at all times, motorists will not be able to travel from one end of Witchduck Road to the other, from 1-5 a.m. During this time, the portion of Greenwich Road between the two blue-and-white icons indicated in the map below will be closed to through traffic.
Law enforcement officers will be stationed near the railroad bridge and at the Witchduck intersection to assist with traffic control.
Greenwich Road is expected to reopen to traffic at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, with the ongoing flagging operations re-instated.
Motorists are advised to stay alert and pay attention when traveling through the work zone.
